What is the equivalent 4th gen CPU of an i7 3770

They are not directly comparable. The specs, features, cost, are different.

im not ocing but im getting a new mobo to replace my lenovo oem board with weird connectors. plus ill have no bloatware and has better capacitors and better vrms etc.

So you have pointed out a newer cpu on a different architecture is not the same, yet have not come up with a closer alternative?

It's a technical point, you might say there's never an exact counterpart to any given chip. Essentially, from Intel's POV the 4770 inherited the position of the 3770 upon release (until it's top position was superseded with the 4790)

If you actually have an i7 3770, I would advise simply buying a new H or Z77 motherboard for it. These are still readily available for sensible money. You would not notice the difference moving to a 4770 or 4790 and these are 'flipping expensive',if you already own the 3770.
I will take it on trust you do not intend to put the 3770 in a 4 series motherboard.

Note; a 3770 being used on a 'Z' chipset can be over clocked using the turbo multiplyers to 3.9 gig per core.. On all four cores at once. (a crafty 500 megahurtz overclock!)

no my lenovo board has no features and because ive moved everything to a new case i have no io shield and the board uses propitary connectors for usb 3.0 and the front panel audio so might as well upgrade.

and i dont have to worry about graphics card compatibility in the future and have no crapware so...
