They almost didn't mention it with 2004, and they completely ignored it in
2005, but the sideline view camera angle (which is pretty much what you
would see when watching a game) is gone. In the 2004 FAQ EA has a link to
request it be put back - though they do not explain why it was removed in
the first place. The only response I get from EA is "that feature has been
removed". WHY? It's not like they need to hire a cameraman.....

The license agreement with the NFL means things will only get worse - more
copy protection that breaks the game, more features removed, and shrinking
support.

How do you get a monopoly to listen?

Easy. Quit buying the damn game, and just keep playing the last
satisfactory version. Their bottom line will speak loudly.

I think this might work, but returning the game in large numbers would be a
better way to get them to listen. Since they are now the only game in town,
it will be difficult to get people (especially new users) to get them to
*not* buy the game. However, once people have the game & discover the
problems, it might be easier to get them to return it - *IF* they realize
they can (EAS has a 90 day return policy, but they obviously don't advertise
it very well).

Do they give your money back, or just credit for another EA game? If
it's credit, then returning something doesn't really hurt their profit
margin much (especially since, like rebates, many people don't use the
credits).

Certainly there's no chance that sales of Madden could ever completely
halt, but EA counts on more than just new users. If all those unhappy
with the loss of previous features retaliated by not buying instead of
rushing out to be among the first to get the new version, I'm sure the
EA honchos would notice and call in the design team for a little chat.
