Hello all,

I recently purchased an Azza Hurrican 2000 case (http://azzatek.com/csaz-2000.html) and am wondering what the HD Speaker wire is for? The manual is vague on what it is for.

I ask only because it is not long enough to reach the socket in the motherboard I believe it should be plugged in to. I suspect this wire is for the speaker and microphone jacks located in the front of the case. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I'd greatly appreciate anyone's help!

I used this manual: http://azzatek.com/PDF/CSAZ-2000_2000R-Hurrican-Users-manual.pdf

Your mobo should either have a HD Audio connector OR AC'97 Audio Connector (some do have both), and depending upon which you choose, the headphone/mic connector can be utilized for surround audio (I personally don't see why anyone would use the front panel connections for speaker connections - I always use the back) - I would think the AC'97 audio for mic/headphones would be more useful on the front.

Thanks ronintexas. As you suggested, I wanted to use the front jacks for a mic/headphone but the cable can't reach from front panel to the pins on the motherboard. i just wanted to verify that the AC'97 cable needed to be plugged into the motherboard to use the front jacks for a mic/headphone setup. Am I understanding this correctly?

The wire is tied with a cable tie to other cables, but it looks like even if I released it there no way to route it to the pin without going directly across the front of my motherboard. If I could, I'd prefer not to do that, as I'm trying to route all the cables in the openings behind the case. Is there an extender that can be purchased?
