I have a (1st Generation) ipad in excellent condition and overall it would be almost even be like new with a screen protector. I live in the Boston area of Mass and I took pics and posted it on Craigslist for (85) and so far I have only had one reply (not to mention 99% of people trying to sell a 1st generation iPad want almost as much as it would to get an (2nd Generation iPad). One step backwards back to the reply I got....he told me that he would negotiate for about $40. I explained the apps on the device and it's condition and I told him NO!!!at least $60.That's where I got caught up when I bought this (1st Generation) iPad version and didn't really think to get a 2 so that I could
at least upgrade my iOS to 7.0,..now 8.0. something. They're's an electronic store (CEX) at Downtown Crossing in the Metropolitan section of Boston. They're located on Winter and Washington Street. I want to trade it in,(considering the minimal damages) but I'm not sure if I should go there or apple.

Solution
A. Ask the stores that buy them what its worth. call or most have tools
B. The apps are completely worthless. They are tied to YOUR ACCOUNT. not to the device. And if you are selling one with out wiping it you are crazy.
A retailer would probably give you around $14 for it. I work for a wireless carrier that has a buy back program and the 3rd party we use, buymytronics, is offering that. It's the same company that Game Stop uses. Check their website if you need proof. A quick look on Gazelle showed that they would offer $40 bucks for it. I'd say that is the best you're going to get.
