what is the intel e5200's generation??

Still fine for general web browsing, media consumption, most generic office tasks, etc. as long as it has enough RAM (4GB would be the absolute minimum these days) to avoid turning into a swapfest.

some web browsing and light office work yes
but certainly not worth buying unless you already have some old system laying around at home .

For typical office work, RAM (if less than 4GB) will be a problem long before the CPU ever is.

Of course, I wouldn't recommend buying parts to build a 'new' PC based on it either. Better off looking for used LGA1156 systems for a few extra bucks.
