What is the max watts

ok i have a Q what is the max psu watts i can use with this mobo i dont know if i buy a 1500w psu if it would blow the board or not im thingking on buying a 800w but will it be on or hadle it what does the continus and max have to be plz help

The 'maximum' is never an issue, the only issue is to under-size. The components only pull what is needed and the PSU only outputs what is requested. So you could get a PC that normally requires a 250W PSU and stick a 1500W - way overkill but zero problems.

its a stak acer aspire x1200 with a 220 wat psu in it with a upgrade a ati hd 5450 card that needs a 400 w psu all is running good but im upgrading to a new case and need a new psu but i wont to buy somthing i can use l8ter on with other mods
going to be uping the mobo to but not now wanting to use mobo that i have now till i save for a new better mobo

after filling all my info out i get 332 for my sys so x by 1.3 = 431 so now what does this show what is being used all the time or is this all i wold need
also for the build i wont i get 564 x 1.3 =733.2 so
what do you think i should get

Apparently, you are not using more than 220W+10%. My i7 930, HD 5770 plus monitor is pulling 165~190W during idle from the plug {my UPS has a digital wattage meter}, but that number doubles and then some when stressed.

If you exceed the 220W the PC can lock-up, BSOD, Shut-down and/or damage the components, plus shorten the life of the PSU or blow it ===> in doing so can EASILY permanently damage ANYTHING its attached to: MOBO, CPU, GPU, etc. I assume the PSU's fan is loud and running full blast IF you're indeed reaching the limit.

Run the Thermaltake calculator ASAP!!!

when i dont select anything it says 88w is there a way to get it to find how much is being used

also fan is maxed and i have been having problems with heating. i have inly my heatsink fan in and psu fan in the comp acers falt bad case but i have a 6" fan out side the case like a desk fan constantly blowing into the case there is intaks on the side that it blows into none stop

^Get a PSU pronto.

The fans must create a small 'negative pressure' {slightly more air out} and have a good circulation pattern. If you open the case and the Temps go down more than >5C then that's indicative of poor airflow circulation/dust. In my case I draw front the front, bottom and side, and blow out the top and rear which seems to work the best. Also, blow-out {compressed air} the dust and vacuum the front filters by prying-off the case cover per the manual. Also, after time the thermal paste can become 'bad' replace with Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound.

The MOBO itself draws power or about 25~40W. Inputting my numbers it says 355W, and Idle it's running 190W.

ok well i know when i get my new case b/c this case is a mini caint take a normal atx psu my brother in law is giving me his 480w psw till i get mine so with the 480 you think ill be good for a lil

i got my bro to bring in the psu now its a 480w psu and it was running his comp using the thermaltake psu calculater he gets 543w x 1,3= 705 w


any way when i hook his psu up im getting power up then power down starts but shuts down right away
first time i tried it it powerd up fine for like 10 min loaded apps fine then just shut down now it will only power for 4 sec any reason for this its a 480 w psu i dont know the name of it but its a 30$ psu

^Were you having this problem before, I'm a little unclear? If so the problem may not be PSU related. I'm not a big fan of cheap PSUs, I recommend Corsair.

Above can happen from a bad: PSU, MOBO, GPU or shorting/grounding. 'IF" the problem was happening before - Suggest that you try to unscrew ALL of the MOBO & PCIe screws and dangle the MOBO away from anything conductive on a towel.

Read the 4. 'Electrolytic capacitor aging'...

i belive i fixed it no it was not happening before but i Quess the hd power sata cable was coming lose causing it to power down i thingk but its not happining no more and with this 480 w psu im grtting an added 15-25 fps in bfbc2 game did a bench mark before with the 220 watt and then with the 480 watt before all settings on low and res 1600x900 getting average 28 fps after with 480 all same settings now getting 51 fps a nice jump ty man for letting me know that it wont hurt my mobo with a larger psu that is what i wanted ty again man

i know now i know that a a psu can effect your lag" witch is better now ping in bfbc2 before 260 and now 50-80" dont ask me how i have no idia lol and hels greatly on fps
