I hate spinning drives, they give me anxiety. I hear soft click and chirp noises from my 3TB disk now (I think, there are multiple drives) and the current pending sector count has suddenly gone to 3.
I am preparing to backup to google drive, I currently have backups to other spinning drives.
It's my impression SSDs are at least very shock resistant but I don't know about their overall longevity and I've heard static discharge can brick them.
I may have to move across country soon which means any disks I have are going to be thumping down the road. I can't afford to buy $1/gigabyte SSDs, I have 1.5TB of samsung ones for laptops though.
There are hybrid drives and also rugged drives like this Lacie:

or this transcend:

A larger drive like this 8TB one would make my life way easier because I actually have around 6TB of data:

I don't know what to do and the chirp-chirp-chirp is driving me nuts. Don't have much money given the potential move.
My motherboard seems to support RAID, and I do not have a usb C port, just 3.0. MSI B450 MAX motherboard, 6x SATA.
