What is the most important component for a MMO rig?

I'm building a gaming rig ATM. There are many things I'm considering at this point, but I also want to gather informations that will help me make my final choices.

One of the most important aspects for me is performance in MMO. I've heard (and read) many theories about what is most important for maximal performance in MMO and find it had to discreminate this information so I'd like your input: What is the most important component for performance in an MMO (Guild War 2 if you feel it's specific to game rather then a genre).

It depends on the MMO but for Guild Wars 2 it's single core CPU performance.
