Hello guys and good morning ,
I want to ask about the normal temperatures for intel core i7 10700 , Not the K edition while Idle and while gaming ?

I got a very old cooler on it its zalman
Zalman CNPS5X

I know its old but my AIO corsair cooler is not working anymore waiting for new cooler H150i corsair

While gaming i got like 69-74C and i think its a hot for this CPU ?

and on idle side with net browsing and YouTube its like 32- 36C but sometimes jumps for 1 second to 50+ is that mean another problem or its okay for jumping and get back to normal idles ?

so I want to know what to expect from this CPU and what is the average temp for gaming and idle ?

Solution
Not to worry.
Your temperatures are actually quite good.

Your 10700 is not overclockable, and should not give you a heat problem while gaming.
You will generate full heat only during stress tests and batch apps that can use all cores.
Games will typically make effective use of perhaps 4-6 threads.

The processor monitors it's own temperature and will slow down or turn off to protect itself if it senses a dangerous temperature.
That is around 100c.

To test, turn on HWmonitor or similar.
Run the cpu-Z stress test.
Look at the max cpu temperature. If you never see 100c. you are wasting money on an aio cooler.

74C in nothing near hot for the processor. Must be none demanding games for that cooler to keep it that low.

im playing cyperpunk 2077 , RDR 2 , God of war , 1440p Ultra Graphics on all of them for long time like 2-6 hours sometimes

I'm amazed it's keeping it that cool during those games with that cooler. But if I remember that CPU max is like 65w so it might not be too unbelievable. 1440p is definitely less CPU Intensive but just confirming, during those games what is the clock frequency that it's running at during those games?

Alright thanks. Do you also have any Aio recommendations? Somethings thats good quality and long lasting?

You have nothing to worry about.
The 50+C spikes - nothing can handle it, even custom loop. I used the same cooler for a week when i get my 9700K (stock) and it was a bit warmer (80-90C 😀). You can use it safely until you get your AIO.

4090Mhz - 4590 Mhz

Okay thansk guys and about AIO recommendations ? any ideas ?

I really want to complete my setup with this cooler i like it very much and it will complete the setup with the RGB and the LCD ?

iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Display Liquid CPU Cooler

what you think guys ?

Personally, not much.
I know that is not what you want to hear.

Seems like an expensive thing to do to solve an issue you do not have.
I have no interest in RGB "bling"
Just me, but, you and others may like that.
If so, there are better ways to gussie up your pc.
AIO coolers have a definite useful life.
The pumps are mechanical and can fail or get clogged up.
In time, air intrudes and the unit needs to be replaced.
While uncommon, aio coolers do on occasion leak with disastrous results.
That cooler has some 9% negative reviews on newegg.

If anything, wanting RGB, you could buy a better cooler with a rgb fan.

generally your temperatures depend on the cooler you've installed. I also have a 10700, and 69-74C is perfectly fine to operate at, but it seems a little high for just gaming. what are your temperatures at 100% load? what are your idle temps?

But if I remember that CPU max is like 65w so it might not be too unbelievable.
65w is TDP or PL1, that's sustained power use. Burst power consumption for the first 26 seconds of Tau on a 10700 is upto 224w.

Meaning you'll spike the temps for almost 30 seconds every time you open something or a new command is issued, but after that it'll settle down to PL1, 65w. Unless you do something nuts like use Dragon Center or other 'Performance' enhancing software that can and does override Tau settings, and keeps the cpu at closer ( if not at) PL2.

Thinking of going air cooling. I've set everything back to default settings and last time I checked my highest speed on my cpu is 4.2ghz.

DRP4 is likely the stronger cooler with a more robust heat fin and larger/quieter 135mm fan.

If you have it, use it. It is not clear if you already own coolers;
I think you are shopping for a cooler.

There are two measurements that are important.

1) What is the make/model of your case?
A case needs sufficient height to install a good tower cooler. 160mm is typical.

2) Is your ram low profile(<33mm) or does it have tall heat spreaders that can impact some coolers?

What is your budget?

I like the noctua coolers. They are top quality , cool well, and are quiet.
Here is a suitability chart for the I7-10700:

I had an artic 34 esports duo and it was ok with my 9700K. A friend of mine is using 10700K with Dark Rock 4 and its totally fine.
I would buy/use the Dark Rock 4. Noctuas are great but ... ugly in my opinion (unless they are black).
Yeah I have the same opinion has the noctuas. Is there any videos I should watch? (benchmark)
