I have got a Inspiron 660 desktop from Dell. Mine is the Mini Tower version with an i5 3330 CPU and 8GB RAM.

I'm trying to find info, but I can't, about the power efficiency of the PSU in this PC. The PSU is a stock 300W PSU.

In the absence of any concrete facts, could someone here give an educated guess on the likely power efficiency?

Thanks!

if they could be load tested they may be 70 percent to 80 percent. they may just hit bronze level if they uses good caps. most of those 10 power supply are not made to be loaded a lot..most of them go pop under a light gaming load.
I have been playing graphically intensive games on my GTX 750 just fine though for the past 2 years.

So you reckon the efficiency is just below Bronze? Cause I am getting a Bronze B1 600W from EVGA that has got 75% efficiency when idle and around 84-87% efficiency under load (load above 20%). Just want to be sure if this is a step up or not in terms of efficiency.

Also, is the stock PSU modular or not? Cause the B1 isn't.

stock power supply is not. what your getting with a newer power supply is a safe bet it wont go boom under load. with how well a power suppy saves you money. it only uses the amount of power that pulled from it. so on a non gaming pc your looking at the cpu voltage and your new gpu. your not going to be using the full wattage of the new power supply.
