Want to go from cable to off the air reception. Have been doing home work on the signals available in my area. the dbm numbers do not mean anything to me.

Solution
Are you reading the dbm from your antenna, or what dbm measurement are you lookig at?? dbm is a mesasurement of power, so the higher the number (note if it is negative or possitvie so -30 is better then -50) the better the signal.

I cant give you a range on what a good signal dbm is until i know your paramaters.
Also knowing how far away the signal is, and what kind of antenna you have.
