what is the second charger cord that connects directly to the laptop called

My laptop charger is two pieces. The end that connects to the laptop broke and i need to replace it. can i buy just the cord second half of the charger that fits into a dell laptop?

Hi,

That should the AC adapter cable since the other end that you connect to the wall is called the power cord. I'm not 100% sure if you can buy them separately but you can just buy the whole set that shouldn't make a lot of difference with their price.
