What is the square inch area of a 24 widescreen monitor

No one seems to know that the area is found by using length x width. with the 24" moniter, what is the width and what is the virtical inches? that will give me the vewing area. fredbryant@hotmail.com

Well, the most common ratio of widescreen monitors is 16:9, which with a 24" diagonal would mean screen dimensions of about 20.9"x11.75", or about 245.6 square inches.
