Hi all,

I'm looking to get an extremely powerful Console. I'm looking to game on max settings for most games and get a very smooth FPS. I'm looking for a Console that can run 1080p, 144fps on a 144hz display. I'm a Desktop Computer Gamer and I would like to get a console. Most people I know get consoles as they are a cheap, affordable option and can run most games smoothly. They don't game on Computers so I'd like to join in with them.

I'm not sure if it's possible to create a custom built Console with PlayStation or XBOX Software but I'd like to try. My budget is around £1400
Sorry if anything I say here isn't possible, I'm not very good with Consoles.

I build my own Computers so I know about the parts of a PC but I've never seen the inside of a Console or have attempted to build one. Back in the day, I had an XBOX 360, PS3 etc.. But I haven't used one for a very, very long time.

If I can't create my own Console, what is the best one to buy and is there a way to upgrade it, make it quicker or stronger? I really need some help with this.

I'm used to having triple-monitor high-end setups, Gaming Computers, Gaming Laptops, Workstations etc.. I don't think it will be the same with Console but I'm wondering if I could do something similar. I'm not talking about a PS4 on 3 monitors or anything like that but just a Console which is strong enough to run Far Cry 5 constantly above 100fps without lag spikes.
I mainly play games such as Rocket League, CS:GO, Far Cry, GTA V, Hitman, Mafia III, Just Cause 3, Star Wars Battlefront, Battlefield 1, FIFA 18 ,VR Games and Fast Paced, Hardcore games. I know that some of these games aren't available for Console but these are the ones I play a lot on PC.

Again, I apologise if this is not possible and I'm just wasting your time but I just don't want to spend lots of money on something I'm never going to use and I don't like.

Any advice,

Kind Regards,
~ Justin.

You can't get a costum hardware console.
The strongest console atm is the xbox one but all it's games are on pc too so kinda pointless if you have a gaming pc.
The ps4 pro is next and that has some good exclusives.
The switch also has good exclusives.

Whatever you choose it's the developer that decides how you will experience the game and thats it.

The XBOX one X is currently the most powerful console as it just had a major graphics card overhaul (hence the X and not plain XBOX one or XBOX one S).
The XBOX also starting to support now 120Hz on screens, but keep in mind that many games on console are inherently still frame limited.

I have a XBOX360 for my kids and PS4 which I only use for netflix. We all use PCs to game and not consoles most of the time... And I find playing FPS absurd with the little controller vs PC keyboard and mouse.

I never play First Person Shooters with Controllers. It is absurd. Why would anyone do that? I was talking about Frames Per Second. But I'll have a look at the XBOX one X. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
