What is the use of type - c USB?

Hi,

I have an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming motherbard, it's have a usb type-c port. I have watched many videos & read some article but i can't figure out what's this is for. So Plz tell me what is the use of this port and how can i use it. I found somewhere that i can charge my phone with it at great speed & transfer data. But how can i do that? Can i charge my android phone with that? which cable & adapter should i use?

USB C is just the type of physical connector, like USB type A, micro USB, etc. It doesn't necessarily do anything different.

USB C can optionally have a bunch of different features, such supporting Displayport, Thunderbolt 3, higher power delivery, etc. None of those appear to be implemented on your motherboard. It probably functions the exact same as a regular (type A) USB 3.0/3.1 port.

Everything TJ said, so use it for whatever you would use a regular port for. USB type C is getting increasingly common, even the Nintendo Switch has it.
