It is a wifi signal detector. The same as an antenna but just you have the ability to move it around more. If you don't like it or use it you can disconnect it and replace it with normal antennas.

Motherboards can have special wifi module.
If no, owner can add wifi module using PCI or USB slot.

at first mine worked really well as a wifi anthenna, now its really bad and it takes like one minute for me to go in to youtube, before it took like one second. I dont know what it is but it might be the scratses on the cabel, you can see the metal wire, how to i fix the problem

Get another WiFi antenna, even a stick antenna would do.
