[SOLVED] What is this cable next to my PCIE cable?

I was cleaning my 6 year old pc, when I found this black cable (the smaller one thats not braided) sticking out somewhere from the bundle of PCIE cables. I couldn't tell what it is / used for, anyone have a clue? The GPU is a nvidia gtx 780

That's the additional +2 pins some cards require for powering up.
It's called a 6+2 connector since you can use either 6 or 8 depending on how many you need.
