I assume it's a splitter to power 2 hard/solid state drives. But where do I plug the white end? I tried plugging it into the motherboard and into a hard drive but it stopped the PC from booting.

It has 4 pins with one empty slot. So is my assumption right? If so, where do I plug it in/what point is it called so I can refer to the mobo manual?

I hope it is what I think it is as it would be a big help.

Thanks!

To be honest i dont know where did you managed to get this cable. My best guess is thats from some kind of old motherboard which had that kind of connector on it.
