What is this? Is my Monitor defective?

I recently got this monitor and it's super weird. It doesn't appear when it's white or another color, but in a black screen it looks bad. Here are some picture.

if it a bleed looking error on black screen then it the monitor backlight. some units have bad bleed. with your new monitor check see if it has newest firmware and see if there any drivers for windows for it. make sure windows set up right for the unit. if your pc has a gpu and ipgpu (mb video port) try the mb video port see if the error on both video or try another device with that monitor.
