What is this lock box i have for hard drives?

So not too long ago someone i know told me that there department at work is replacing a load of tech. So i asked him if he could pass down anything that's not going to be used. So i got a couple of things including some old switches, pretty cool stuff. Now one thing that im not too certain on what it is but have a clue as to what it probably is.

So it looks to me like some sorta security lock box for individual hard drives to mount them onto like a rack of some sort to keep drives secure and protected. It has a little PCB on one end and some wires that connect to some LEDs. I have a feeling im not far off but it looks like i have no need for them so naturally i want to sell them, but need more info.

Here is a video of the them, the contain some old IDE drives (40GB) that are worth next to nothing i guess.

So what do you guys think it is? Was I right, Some sorta Secure lock boxes?

Now that i think about it. I dont even have the keys for them. So selling them is out of the question i guess. Even though you can screew in hard drives still. Kind of point for a security device, so maybe im wrong?

That's for servers to make it easier to manage multiple drives. You slide it into position in its mount point, then you can lock it in for security. The missing key doesn't matter much, it looks like it uses the standard one. It looks like this, double check any model number on it:

Unfortunately, that won't be worth much of anything to anyone anymore. It's better off scrap if you don't have an IDE server. Haven't seen one of those in use in... 8 years or so?

Makes plenty off sense. The date on the hard drives say 2003 so I'd guess they are as old.

Yeah I expected as much of them to be worth nothing. Thanks for teaching me what it's purpose was. I was pretty curious to know. The fact it went with IDE was a sign it'd be worth nill.
