Alright, I've just obtained an old Lenovo H420 (7552-1-YU) from my grandpa. Completely wiped it but still have Windows 7 Home Premium on it.
Here's a site I found useful: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2395507,00.asp
My questions are:
1. If I were to post it on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist or eBay, how much could I sell the thing for?
2. If I were to invest in a halfway decent PSU and maybe some other parts, would it increase the value enough to sell it for a profit on the parts I purchase? What other parts could I add?
If I add a higher end PSU I could also add a lower end GPU. Would I be able to profit? Perhaps I could list the item with the new parts and see how high I could go...then once someone is interested I could actually purchase the parts etc...
If I do upgrade the thing, I think it would be best to sell it as a gaming pc.
Thanks for reading, and for all in advance!
Edit: here's a spec list -
https://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-h420-7752-core-i3-2100-3-1-ghz-monitor-none-series/specs/
Here's the value I found according to the spec list and using pcpartpicker: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/xXjmillXx/saved/yz4pgs this link includes a GPU and PSU I might add in. See their value at the bottom under "purchased"
