What is this SMIOVT6 in speedfan app? Whenever I use my PC for like 2-3 hours continuously its temperature jumps from 30'C up-to 128'C and then I face epic FPS lag . Help me to figure out which one of the components is getting heated up , so i may get it repaired or replace it .

screenshots of speedfan app :

Seems more or less a mystery all around. :)

I can tell you that the SMI part of it refers to System Monitoring Interface (and not, as is commonly claimed, the Secret of Monkey Island). :)

In investigating it, I found a very useful, 4-page tutorial on how to customize Speedfan: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1275-page1.html

In there, it even mentions that you can download a set of custom-defined names for the monitoring interfaces on specific motherboards. If you are lucky and your mobo is popular, chances are you won't have to follow the entire tutorial to figure out which measurement that SMIOVT6 refers to.

Good luck. :)
