[SOLVED] What is this thing attached to my case?

I have a 5-year old pre-built Acer Aspire, and am trying to figure out what the black plastic thing inside the case, near the bottom left, just below the fan (and to the right of it a little) of the below picture. It sort of looks like an open box. You can flip it up and down.

Looks to me to be an air baffle to provide cool air to your GPU. It does line up with the grate in the side panel.

looks like it also might be supporting the gpu as well as funneling air toward it. i've seen many different ways to help support it in prebuilt systems

Awesome, thanks! I upgraded my GPU (among other components) and had to remove it because it didn't fit anymore. I'll be mindful of temp and support!
