I was in the process of removing my EVGA 980 Ti SC to install GTX 1080 when I saw this attached to my graphics card. What is this and how do I remove 980 Ti if that thing is attached to it? Says VGA on it. Thanks!

Its a thermocouple for measuring the GPU temperature from you fan controller.

So what do I do with it? I need to remove the card to install my new one.

It should peel off, just stick it to the new gpu under where the processor is

Just did. Thanks a lot, you are the best. I have another question that's unrelated to this: I have a hard time removing my graphics card. The PCIe port is just too hard to be pushed down. Any suggestions?
