I built a pc with windows 10 a week ago and I noticed an option in the power options called "turn on fast startup"
It is on by default and windows recommends that it stays on, I just have a few questions.
What is it exactly? besides the fact that the boot time is faster, does the computer completely shutdown when this option is enabled?
Does it store some information in the ram so that it allows the pc to boot up quicker?
Is it healthier for the pc to have this option disabled?

thanks in advance!!

It is perfectly fine to use this. Fast boot is a new feature in UEFI systems, taking advantage of the more modern design of UEFI to help decrease boot times. There are very few disadvantages. The one you'll probably face the most is that it is harder to access BIOS settings, since the traditional pause to wait for input is usually skipped.

Windows itself does do some further optimizations, so from my understanding it is possible that it does also do some sort of hibernation to try to speed things further. In the end, though, fast boot is generally not a bad setting to enable unless you're going to be doing some overclocking and need regular access to the BIOS menu.
