What is UEFI Shell

I was in the BIOS and I accidentally clicked UEFI Shell which brought me into a weird code place. I panicked and turned off power. Will I be ok?

ok thanks. It said shell/ or something and acted like I could write code. I accidentally hit enter and the another shell/ came up underneath. Was it ok to just shut down? Thanks for the feedback!

Moot point since you already did.

Modern motherboards will have larger bios space that enables UEFI.

UEFI Shell is not the UEFI interactive bios interface.
Its more like booting to the windows or linux command prompt. If you know what you are doing to can do quite a bit such as run programs & Scripts, issue commands to change bios settings, debug problems...

ps - not all motherbds allow you to boot to the shell.

Ok thanks! I just built a new computer and I didn't want to screw it up already. The only thing I did was his the enter button and it showed 2 shell> things on the bottom and then I powered off. Will everything be good, did I effect anything?
