The problem is the laptop is obsolete including Windows XP. Microsoft stopped supporting Win XP back in April 2014 which means no more security updates for it. That means Win XP is no longer secure enough to surf the web with unless you don't care about security. That's assuming you can tolerate surfing the web with a single core Celeron 1GHz CPU based on the old Pentium 3 CPU. Performance will be extremely slow since webpages have become more complex and requires much more CPU processing power over the past 13 years.
