What is $VAULT

I was emptying my recycle bin and and a notification popped up telling me I need administrator permission to delete a file called $VAULT. Information on the file said it was created in the recycle bin. I am confused and I am unsure what this file is.

Hi, have you recently removed AVG or deleted any AVG folders? It seems the file may be related to the AVG.

If you are no longer using AVG then it's probably safe to delete. If you are still using AVG then you might want to right click on it (while it's still in the Recycle Bin) and choose Properties. This should show it's Origin, or original location. Restore it if you like.
