What is video crad (not graphic card)

i am opening a new studio in my area 😀

my friend suggested me that i will need a Video Card ( i have chosen DECLINK,STUDIO-2 )
but i dont know what it does, my friend said that it used for capture process (then i dont need this)

please tell me what video card will do for me??
I already know that it is not same as graphic card, please describe me what video card will do

Video card and graphics card are the same thing. There is a Video Capture Card which records things from outside sources. But if you just talking about a video card and graphics card, same thing. They speed up video display, game display on the computer. Some pro models are made for working in applications like video editing and CAD. Maybe he was talking about a pro card like that, nVidia Quadro or a AMD (ADI) FireGL?
