Im trying to run benchmarks on "vulkan" and it just crashes instantly. What is "vulkan" and how do i stop benchmarks from crashing on them because the only thing i can use is "openGL"

Solution
Vulkan is the successor and meant to replace opengl but opengl is still being used for now catering for older gpus not supported.

http://vulkan.gpuinfo.org search your gpu.

Vulkan support from GTX 6xx and Radeon HD 7xxx series with appropriate driver versions.

GTX 9xx series is supported, the normal driver package from Nvidia includes Vulkan components, no need to install it seperate.

Just reinstall the latest drivers again

vulkan is like opengl and directx. it's another language a program can use to talk to a gpu.

it may be crashing if you don't have vulcan installed. if you do have it, then try uninstalling and reinstalling it. updating to newest version may also be a solution. it's possible the benchmark is trying to use a newer version of vulkan than you have installed.

Those are Vulkan SDK downloads. They're for developing using Vulkan, and not what the OP needs.

@dannysgbb what GPU do you have? What OS and drivers?

lol, yah sorry but that. wrong bookmark.

tj got the right idea. amd and nvidia host them on their sites. and yes they are different than your gpu drivers. they are just like opengl and directx. separate programs that a game can be written in. the gpu needs each installed if you want to run something written in it.
