What is wrong with my build?

Hello all.

During my games I am having lower FPS than benchmarks with my 1080gtx and i5-6600. Around 40-45 instead of 70-80 (bf1 and bf5 and witcher 3 for example (fps varies but symptoms are the same)

I am completely out of ideas why and would like to ask help in the matter.

My build is:

Be quiet! Pure Power 9 (700W)
Processor | Intel Core i5-6600K (4x 3.5 GHz (3.9 Ghz Turbo Boost), Skylake)
Processor cooler | Scythe Fuma
Motherboard | GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 (usb 3.1, audio, lan)
RAM |Corsair Ballistix 16 GB DDR4-2113 Vengeance (4/4/4/4)
GPU | MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G (DVI, HDMI, 3x DP)
SSD | Samsung 850 Evo 1 TB

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Quinn,

I would clean out the GPU with an Air can. Download MSI afterburner and make sure the fan speed is anywhere between 55% - 65%. (Just my pref)

The only 2 Issues i can point out is that directly correlates with Deder is that your resolution + graphic settings can have a huge impact.

I used to use the i5 6600k with a 1070. On BF1 1920x1080 full ultra settings i was getting 50 - 65 fos depending on certain scenarios.

I upgraded my CPU to the i7 8700k and my GPU is still the same. I run BFV on full ultra settings at 2k Resolutions with a constant 60 - 70 FPS.

What i am saying is that your i5 6600k could be the issue. It might be bottle necking your GPU.

    ■ Online benchmark result shouldn't be compare directly to your build, they may use different build which some maybe higher spec to your current build.
    ■ The FPS directly related to your graphic preset (low, medium, high, ultra) and display resolution (720p, 1020p, 2K, 4K), so the higher preset and display resolution, the lower you'd get the FPS.
You can redo CPU HSF mounting just to be sure, get the best case airflow (tidy cable and faster fan), for mean time you can run game benchmark just to see CPU cores and GPU/VRAM speed, update latest nVidia driver.
