I want to stream rust and I've been streaming it before on high settings at around 90-105 fps. With dips to a minimum of 80 fps while streaming. Now with my new CPU it drops to 40-60. How did it drop that much? I also overclocked my GPU and CPU. At my current settings, I made my CPU go back to stock at 3.7 ghz and left ram at 3000mhz.

My Specs:
GPU: ASUS Strix ROG 1080 TI
CPU: I had an i7-7700k but recently switched to ryzen 7 2700x
MOBO: MSI x470 gaming plus
PSU: Corsair RM 750x
CPU cooler: Corsair h100i v2
RAM: Corsair vengeance 2x8gb 3000 mhz

(Since the RAM was set to 2133 mhz I overclocked that to 3000 since that is what it was made for)

Those 2 CPUS are just about the same for gaming.. so you should have about the same as before the change. other then vsync other other GPU setting maybe? another thing to check is are your temps still OK on the GPU and CPU? like is it getting too hot and throttling?

Those are the only things I could think about and maybe.. are you running more stuff now then before.

I agree with Doctor Rob. Make sure your components are staying below their max recommended temps. If they get too high your computer will shut off to prevent permanent damage, but I know with my experience that when my temps start getting super high games will start to give lag spikes and drop frames like crazy.

A great tool for monitoring temperature of all your cores and GPU is SpeedFan. I'll provide the download link below.

Did you do a fresh reinstall of Windows after you upgraded your motherboard?

All of my settings are the same, and I'm running the same stuff, I'll check the temps right now
