My computer stopped responding and restarts on it's own. I couldn't even do a CTRL + ALT + DEL. This happened 3 times, while I was about to search something on Chrome and happened as I hit enter, while watching Youtube video on Chrome, and as I was going to hit play button to watch a video on Steam app. Then this displayed as my computer booted:

Here are my specs:

Acer XC-605 [strike]motherboard[/strike] Desktop PC
Windows 10
i7 4790
2 TB HDD
Gtx 1050 ti OC GPU
8 Gig ram

I don't know if it matters but my GPU is only a month old and I have just installed a new cpu fan last week. TIA!

Edit: The 3 instances of not responding and unexpected restart was within a week, not just a single day.

Solution

Apparently this is caused by AVG trying to install Windows files and corrupting or by AVG having corrupted files/dependencies.
Remove it and see if the restart occurs if not you just need a clean installation of AVG

I think so. It's this one http://www.deepcool.com/product/powersupply/2014-11/10_1444.shtml.

I doubt that it's the temp. Max CPU temp is 74 celsius when playing witcher 3 on ultra settings. Additionally I never had any issue while gaming.

Yes I have AVG. What's wrong with my AVG? I have no problem replacing it if it's the problem.

Thanks. I'll wait for a few days before I remove AVG. I have also suspected that it could be latest GPU driver. I have rolled it back to previous version the other day. If I still get a restart then it could be AVG. Thanks for the input.

Update: It was indeed AVG that was causing the problem. Uninstalled it and replaced with Avast. Thanks for the help!
