What is wrong with my cpu cooler?

My cpu also has a small indent on it bout the same size(in the picture on the right side of the cooler)

Is this fine? my pc still works and nothing that i have seen has gone wrong.

Does the cooler's plate feel smooth where the little ding is? It looks like a machining defect. Or maybe a bit of hard debris was in between the cooler's plate and the CPU's heatspreader when you installed it. If your CPU is working fine and staying nice n cool then I wouldn't be worried about it. Just make sure your temps aren't affected. Based on the location of that little ding, I doubt it will affect your temps.

so far my temps aren't anything crazy 30c idle, but i am looking to upgrade my cpu and cooler here soon.
