[SOLVED] What is wrong with my pc?

When I load onto games on my pc, my monitor goes black and says that it has lost connection but the pc is still turned on. I can still hear game sound and my friends but no screen. Now, when this happens the fans in the graphics card spin violently fast and the graphics card overheats. The only way I can stop it is to turn my pc off at the switch. I have a feeling that this could be the PSU as I have a: 3gb 1060 NVidia GeForce graphics card, 8gb ram, i7 intel quad core and only a 500w power supply. Is the problem perhaps that there is not enough power in the pc and also what is the best cheapest solution for this

Yea I would check the driver (update it)
Is the card new? how old?
check cooling inside your case and on GPU
Power supply could be issue id say test it out with a new one higher wattage
also if your MOBO has onboard graphics try playing the game using it

What is the exact power supply? Talking about a 500W power supply in specific terms is impossible; it's not enough information to judge what's going on.

I bought the graphics card 2 months ago and only used it a little bit. It is fully up to date.

What is the exact power supply? Talking about a 500W power supply in specific terms is impossible; it's not enough information to judge what's going on.

I am not very good with PC but it looks like an ATX switching power supply

When your screen turns black, did you try to unplug your video cable to your monitor and plug it back it? Especially if it's an HDMI connection.

Yes I have tried unplugging and replugging it in I have tried about 3 different hdmi cables

Because if so, that's not even really a 500W PSU, it's a junky 264W PSU for all intents and purposes and you're really pushing it with a GTX 1060. If this is the PSU you have, I'd replace it immediately and hope it didn't damage the GPU.

Not sure what that last phrase means, but the Corsair CX 450 tends to be the least expensive quality budget PSU.

CX 450 is the cheapest worth buying. If you want to spend more and get a really good one for the next decade, look at EVGA G2/G3/G2/T2/P2, Corsair RMx or SeaSonic Focus/Primer series.
