I have had a motherboard go faulty and start sparking and melting itself down so I bought an identical replacement and now it won't boot it will only get to the bit where it says ASUS then it crashes, however it will work if I go into the bios and will work normally there with the cpu and ram being detected so I don't really know what is wrong. I have tested psu and new motherboard by using a z170 with it as the cpu is backwards compatible and it does the exact same with that motherboard and neither are faulty, however I cannot test ram or cpu so I am going to send the cpu back as it is under warranty and has no visible signs of damage. I need a computer badly so I am going to buy an i7 8700k to use. I just want to know what people general opinion is as I am going to get my money back on the old cpu if it is faulty but I would just like peoples predictions on what is wrong just before I buy a replacement.
