What kind of case fan?

So I recently built a computer and I have the option of installing 3 additional fans to the case.

I have an Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case which can take an three additional 120mm fans.

I want to see if this will bring my CPU/GPU temps down when I'm gaming.

Can I just buy any old 120mm fans?

Yes, any should work fine. There's no specific variety.
I'd get one front fan.

Yeah you can get any 120mm fan, but I'd recommend reading reviews first before pulling one off the shelf at radio shack: there are some obnoxiously loud fans out there and they don't perform much better than the quieter ones. Your sanity is worth the extra $5.
