Hi guys. I have to buy new ram in my computer because I had 6gb (3x2gb) and one of them broke so now I'm only using 4gb and I really need more than that because newest games require more than 4gb. I want to upgrade to a 16gb but I'm not sure if my motherboard is compatible with 16gb ram.

System Specs:

Case: Coolermaster Haf X

Motherboard: EVGA X58 3X-Sli

Memory Ram: OCZ Gold 6GB DDR3

Processor: Intel Core i7 930 Quad Core 8MB Cache 2.8GHz

Heatsink: Coolermaster V8

Video Card: GTX 480 PNY

Power Supply: Corsair 850W

Monitor: LG 1920x1080 Full HD (23 Inch)

Hard Drive: Western D.1tb + WD 150Gb

Could someone tell me what kind of rams are compatible in my motherboard and whats the highest Mhz it can support.

Ex: can it run 16gb? 12gb? 2x8gb 3x4gb and what can it run 1800Mhz or 2200Mhz or 1600Mhz is the highest?

Thanks.

If you have time, I'm going to buy my Ram from this website. www.ncix.ca
so if you could find one that would be great for me I would appreciate it but just by telling me which rams my motherboard supports will be enough.

Ok, here is your Motherboard's supported RAM...

6×240pin
DDR3 1600/1333
up to 24GB
Triple Channel

I would go with a 3 or 6 module RAM kit just because your motherboard supports Triple Channel (3x4/6x4/3x8). This is the RAM pack I would choose...
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB ($92)

Sorry, I couldn't find one I would recommend on NCIX
