What kind of monitor should i get , or maybe a TV instead ? please hel

Hi , i'm starting a new build ... i was planning on buying a 27 inch LED monitor , maybe this one here from sam's club

but alot of people i've talked to have suggested that if i went with a TV then it's just a bigger monitor for less money ...

the games i'd be playing would be skyrim , maybe FSX or Xplane 10 ....

i just don't know what to do ... but i DO know i don't want anything smaller than 27 inches and it can't cost more than 300 dollars ..

@azeem, just what do you think all televisions use as a resolution then? i personally use a 40" at 1920x1080 and it works fine. yes it is not as sharp due to the resolution and size but it does fulfill the purpose of a movie/gaming screen well.

@op, some televisions in that size range might be only 720p not 1080p so watch out. a good 1080p 60hz led backlit television would work but so would a 1920x1080 computer monitor.

the benefit to going with a television would be that you arent going to get stuck with a tn panel (bad viewing angle) screen most likely but it will be harder on your budget.

the benefit with going with a monitor is that you could most likely get it cheaper but most likely you will be stuck with a crappy tn panel at...

Dell makes decent monitors and so does samsung.

for televisions: sony, samsung, lg... in that order. avoid olevia, other cheap brands.
for monitors: dell, asus, viewsonic...no particular order. avoid cheap brands.
