What kind of mouse sensor is this?

I just want to know what type of mouse I have and/or what type of mouse does not do this. I am able to move the cursor on my screen when my mouse is a centimeter above the mouse pad. What sensor does a mouse need so that this does not happen? I am looking for a gaming mouse and need to be able to lift the mouse back in position without moving the cursor on the screen.

Try different mouse pad, something with dark, non reflective surface. I once tamed a too sensitive mous by placing a bit of see through sellotape over the lenses, took 2 layers.
