What kind of performance can I expect from this build?

My current laptop is on its last legs and I have been putting money aside for a new laptop for a good while now. I was about to pull the trigger on another laptop when I came across a PC building forum. After looking into it, I found that I can get a lot more for my money by building something rather than getting an off the shelf computer.

Here are the parts I ordered (Many were on sale which I was I didn't check before purchasing and all can be returned.)

Intel Core i5-4690
Sapphire Radeon R9 290
16gb GSkill RAM (Started as 8, they threw in one more, so I grabbed another to round it off)
ASRock H97 motherboard
240 gb SSD
1 TB HD
Antec 750 Watt 80+ Gold Power Supply
Thermaltake Versa H23 Mid-Tower Case

I will be using 2 24 inch monitors as well.

I was wondering if there is anything you would return and switch out while I have the chance and what kind of performance I can expect from this system.
I would also like to do 3d modeling to design stuff to run on my milling machine.

Thanks to any responses. I appreciate it.

Yes that's even more expensive than the 4690k. The i5 4460 @ $159 or the i5 4590 @ $179 are the two best bang for buck. There would be zero performance difference between any of them. Send the 4690 back.

I paid $225. Did I get taken to the cleaners?
