Question What kind of screw is this? In 3090 FE.

So I was trying to do the thermal pad mod and ended up losing a screw on my 3090 FE. Anyone know what kind of screw this is? I think I'll need to turn to Ebay.

Easiest to just bring one of the three remaining screws to a local Fastenal, Grainger, McMaster-Carr or Tacoma Screw store and let them measure it.

i am unsure for the size, might be from T5 to T8, it might be good to bring it over the mechanical shop to let them see which kind of the screw it is.

The drill head bit size is Torx T6, but you need to be concerned with several things.

The dimensions /width of the top of the head itself.
The thread pitch size (distance between threads, yes, this matters)
The thread pitch bit width (aka screw hole size)
The thread bit length.
Head shaft thickness (the part above the pitch bit, but below the top of the head
Head shaft length (from top to bottom going to the pitch bit).

Is there a pin in the middle of the star? If there is, then it is a security screw, and you need a special Torx screwdriver with a hole in the tip. Nintendo used to like to annoy people with those kinds of screws. 😡
