what kind of system should I get?

You may think this is nuts.
I have a tall TV type tower.
I'd like to install a camera at the top, that would feed pictures to my web
page.

I presently have a wireless router, the distance from router to the top of
the tower would be approx 55 feet.
But running a cable from the camera to the computer would be easy.

The camera would be outside in the weather (chicagoland nasty type weather)
and would turn as I turn the antenna.

Color would be nice, cheap would be nice (but I realize cheap is 'relative')

So what kind of camera, software do I need.

It would be fantastic if a person who looks at my web page could turn the
camera utilizing a pan/tilt type system. (I realize that would be more
expensive).

My home page will have Davis Weather Data, and show pictures from the
camera.

Below is a link to how I've made a simple pan/tilt webcam setup
using model airplane servos fairly inexpensivly. Bottom links are
to the cheap harborfreight cams and other cam sources. Video from
the harborfreight cams is ~ok, but they are cheap. Most analog
cams can use cheap cat3 phone wire for hookup over some distance.
If you can solder, then this type of stuff is fairly easy.

I download the WebcamXP and with a OLD DLink DSB C300 am now on the web
at http://www.qsl.net/~w9ol/shack.html


I'll investigate better cameras as this one seems sharp enough, just
requires a LOT light. and Want something better for outside.

Open to suggestions.

Remember to weatherproof your camera!

Too much sun can kill the hardware.

Water could zap it dead.

Cold/damp can also kill the hardware.

And I can't see your camera.. is it online?
