[SOLVED] What kind of video adaptor do I need?

I have a Dell Lattitude 5490 which has a usb-c connector, labeled as "Displayport over type C"

Apparently that is displayport masquerading through a usb-c connector?

I want to hook it up to a monitor with only HDMI ports, but so far, the adaptors I've found on Amazon are either usb-c to displayport, or usb-c to hdmi, which no mention of displayport.

I guess I don't want usb-c to hdmi because the signal is displayport, not usb-c? or does all video over usb-c mean it carries displayport video?

if I get usb-c to displayport, I guess I still need another adaptor to go into HDMI. Isn't there an adaptor that is "diplayport over usb-c" to HDMI?

You need a USB-C to HDMI adapter. USB-C is the connector type.
