Hi there,
I have a question about my pc and compatibility with some components and I hope you can find a solution for me because I'm hopeless.

These are my system informations:
OS: Windows XP professional
BIOS: BIOS date: 11/24/05 Ver: 08.00.12
CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2.80 GHz
Memory: 1472 MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c
Video Card: VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP Internal (64MB)

I don't know a lot about pc but I know that my CPU is just one core so it is quite old (belongs to dinosaurs era) and I know about the integrated video card of 64 MB, in other words: ***!!!

I would like to buy a decent video card and to add more RAM.
- What do you think is the best and most powerful video card compatible with this CPU I can buy?
- Do you think this CPU can support more than 1472MB of RAM?

If you need other informations please do not hesitate to ask
I hope you can help me
kind regards,
Andy

to be honest, a board that runs such an old processor the motherboard is bound to be very old, does it even have a pci-express x16 slot? if so you need to know your PSU and other factors into account but if you have a PCI-Express X 16 and 300W + PSU you should be fine with an 8600GT, which is an alright old card and probably the best you'll do on such an old system, however with such little detail im not sure.
