Question What laptop sensors detect motion ?

I have an HP x360 Spectre laptop. In the past, I seem to remember tilting the laptop to input to games and simulations. But, recently, I installed a simulation and tilting the laptop has no effect on the simulation. How can I determine if the laptop has the required sensors? Maybe my memory is faulty. I don't know what to look for in the specs or in Device Manager. Any advice will be appreciated.

Found this, which explores the ways to disable orientation sensor. But doing it vice-versa should help you,

Also the default sensor diver name is listed in that topic + alternative driver as well.

Not all simulations support tilting. Either that, or the game doesn't support the specific orientation driver you have on your laptop.

Thanks for the advice! The link takes me to a post regarding screen rotation. And I can't find the lock/unlock options on my laptop. Anyway, screen rotation is not what I need. I need laptop rotation to input to the simulation.

The simulation I have works on another laptop that I have.

Yes, it does, but like i said before, the drivers for orientation sensor are also listed there, namely:
We can also replace this Sdo Sensor V2 driver with the Simple Device Orientation Sensor driver to resolve the issue.

For screen to rotate on tilt, it has to use the very same orientation sensor you are after for. So, one specific hardware with specific driver. That is, IF your laptop even has that sensor in it to begin with.

At this point, i suggest that you contact HP directly and ask your question from them, since after all, they made the laptop. It is possible that your version of the x360 Spectre doesn't have orientation sensor in it. HP support can find it out for you based on your laptop serial number. Or could be, that the sensor itself is dead. In this case, you'd need to haul it to repair shop.

Thanks for your reply. I will try HP Support, but one reason I posted here is lack of results from HP.
