Question What makes a motherboard better for overclocking?

I am building a new computer. I will get an Intel i9-9900k and plan on overclocking.

The motherboard I plan on purchasing is the MSI Z390-A PRO

I haven't been able to find an answer to whether or not this board is any less capable of overclocking than per say a Asus ROG Strix Z390-E.

Is there any limitations the msi option has on overclocking that other boards don't have? I am asking about pure performance, not ease of use.

The motherboard's VRM design (Voltage Regulation Module) and the VRM cooling are dependent on power delivery to the CPU and overall overclocking stability.

The MSI Z390-A PRO has a rather basic VRM and smaller heatsync. This board can work with an i9 9900k, however there may be high VRM temp with overclocking leading to less overclocking headroom and possibly shortened motherboard lifespan.

The VRM of the Z390 e also has been criticized.

Look for a high end motherboard to pair with a high end CPU.
