What makes it loud?

When building my next system, I wish to make certain that I don't have the loud fan noise of the one I currently have. In picking out components, what is the usual cause of noise, the case fans or the power supply ones?

Does anyone have any specific specs I should look for when choosing fans, cases or power supplies? I will not be overclocking the system much, if at all. Thanks

I find case/CPU fans are the loudest ones, but if you want a really quiet system get a quiet PSU aswell. A zalman PSU along with one of thier CPU heatsinks and a few vantec stealth fans would go down a treat.

If you really want it quiet, you could also buy a fan controller and have your case fans hooked up to it, so you actually have control on the noise. Other than that, CPU and Pow Sup fans are big culprits. I have a TT Dragon Orb in my system, sucker is the loudest thing in my rig.
