Hi,
I'm switching to a new broadband service, but don't know if i can utilize the high Mbit/s ones with my hardware. I'm thinking of either buying the 10 or 50Mbit/s option.
Here are the plans by the ISP:

My question is: Can my network adapter handle these speeds?
Motherboard:
ALiveXFire-eSATA2 R3.0
http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/ALiveXFire-eSATA2%20R3.0/
Network Adapter(the motherboard's default one):
Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)
Modem (I assume the ISP will give a new one):
DSL-360R
Internet speed with my current plan:

Thanks

Rule of thumb is unless you're aiming for 400Mb/s or faster, you won't have any limitations with your computer unless you're using wifi or USB. Almost any router from the past many years should be able to handle 50Mb. Once you start breaking into 100Mb, you may run into issues with really low end routers. My co-worker just had me lookup his router that was $40 5 years ago, and it supports 140Mb/s in load tests.
