What Memory Voltage for my HP Envy 750xt: 1.35V or 1.5V

My new HP Envy 750xt uses PC-12800 DDR3 1600 DRAM, but I don't know what voltage it runs from. Is there a way to tell? I didn't see anything in the bios. Does it matter which voltage the DRAM is specified at? Is Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 1600 (PC3-12800) 240-Pin UDIMM Memory BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00/BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00 a good choice? What will work at a good price?

It lists the types and numbers you can use. Just be aware of the memory limit due to a 32 Bit OS, if that applies to you.

Provided the type of memory you get matches the compatible types listed for your motherboard, you should be fine. To avoid other issues try not to mix memory types.

Thanks for your response. So I should remove the memory I have ti identify it? Is it possible to go into the bios (how) to see how the voltage is set and other details? I ran a program (Corsair I think), which said the voltage is 1.35V. That company said that their 1.35V or 1.5V memory would work, which I don't understand if the voltage is really 1.35V. How can I verify the voltage (bios)?

I think that both voltages will work fine.Lower voltage ddr3 ram just works at a lower voltage,but can even run at 1,5V if necessary.

Best would to sell the current ram and buy a 2x8gb set if wanting 16gb.If still wanting to add look with cpu-z what the specs are for your current ram and get ram as close as possible,as in maker model,speed,latencies and voltage.Look at the SPD tab in cpu-z for that info.

I bought an a 2 pack of 4G PC-12800 DDR3 and added it. It is recognized (now 16G), but the bus speed slowed down. When I shut the computer down, it hung. How can I see the voltage for the DRAM in the bios or elsewhere?

Being oem is the bios doubtfull,but you can look with cpu-z=>memory tab.If you can find and alter voltages for the ram in the bios add some,set it to 1.55V and see if it helps.
